Starbucks has a huge following via their Social Media campaigns, but sneakily, Starbucks use their own customers to promote their business.
One of the best ways to promote any business is by word-of-mouth from their own customers, but to get interaction between customers and their friends on social media, some sneaky marketing tricks need to come into play. There is no other way to get people talking is by spelling a person’s name wrong.
We have all done this, myself included, just see the following image taken a few months ago after a recent visit to Starbucks with a couple of work colleagues from Granulr (Myself, Dan, and Steve).
But it doesn’t end there with miss spelt names, or the wrong name altogether. Dan participates in a Starbucks on a regular occasion, so he always gets bright and wonderful custom cups, especially because he’s a regular with the baristas.
Morel to the story, some people may get upset with their name being spelt wrong, or even the completely wrong name written on the side of the cup, but we are all human and make mistakes, and miss-hear things, so most customers will not understand what this snide marketing campaign, and continue to visit this very popular coffee shop on a regular basis.
